Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH (Germany), Liebherr’s competence center for landing gears, flight control and actuation systems, and Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS (France), center of competence regarding environmental control and thermal management systems, were both granted the Aero Excellence Award in Bronze. In direct comparison with other German companies, Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg even took first place.
The resulting Best Maturity Award was presented to Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg at the International Paris Air Show 2025, the leading trade fair for the aerospace industry, whereas Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse had already been awarded Bronze in November 2024.
“The award makes us very proud and reflects the maturity of our processes and the daily commitment of our employees,” says Martin Wandel, Chief Operating Officer at Liebherr-Aerospace & Transportation SAS. “Thanks to the hard and dedicated work, we were able to achieve this outstanding level, which is recognized by our customers.”
The assessment by Aero Excellence aims to establish a uniform, international standard for operational excellence, environmental protection and cyber security. Among other things, organization and resource management, planning and logistics as well as supply chain management are reviewed. The aim of the initiative is to make the entire supply chain more resilient and competitive.
European initiative for strong supply chains
Aero Excellence is a European initiative to strengthen supply chains in the aerospace and defense industry. It was launched in 2023 by the French aviation association GIFAS and expanded in 2024 together with the German (BDLI) and British (ADS) partner associations to form Aero Excellence International.
